InterGen provides solutions in the areas of wealth optimization and estate planning for high net worth entrepreneurial families, individuals, and high earning professionals. InterGen is comprised primarily of experienced CPAs – many of whom are former national accounting firm partners.

SUSAN KICHUK

With a Ph.D. in Business, Susan spent the first 10 years of her career as a Business Professor in both Canada and the U.S. Sought after for her expertise, Susan provided expert strategy and leadership advice as a Management Consultant for several top Canadian companies. Before joining TTSG, she spent 15 years as a Senior Executive, leading and executing large scale strategy, organization, optimization, acquisition and business transformation initiatives across more than 10 countries for the Americas Region of a large global company. As CEO of TTSG The Veritas Edge, Susan has and will continue to lead the Group through an internal corporate evolution and expansion across North America.

Garnet Morris

Founder and president

Garnet began his career in banking and private business but created his own corporate niche with Targeted Strategies Limited, the founding company of our group of businesses. An innovator with a personal penchant for taking on high-potential challenges, Garnet has an instinctive ability to recognize opportunities – even those others might consider underdeveloped or unconfirmed. His forward-thinking ideas, innovative methods, and wealth of knowledge assists private business owners optimize their net worth.

JOHN DURLAND

President, InterGen Solutions

John Durland (CPA, CA) works with high-net-worth entrepreneurial families and individuals, developing effective, tailored planning solutions that meet their business and personal needs. He is adept at explaining complex issues and detailed solutions to his clients and their advisors so they can make effective business decisions. Prior to joining InterGen Solutions, John was the managing partner of national tax solutions for a national accounting firm. He specialized in international tax, divestiture transactions, corporate restructuring, and estate and succession planning. 

HARLEY MINTZ

FCPA, CFP, TEP, CPA

Principal

As a Principal with TTSG, Harley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Group that clients of both Targeted Strategies and TTSG The Veritas Edge benefit from. He has a long and well-established track record as an authority on accounting and tax issues. His written work and voice have been featured in newspapers and radio across Southern Ontario and he specializes in succession estate and financial and tax planning. Harley was the managing partner of Mintz & Partners from 1981 onwards until they merged with Deloitte in 2008. Harley became a Vice Chair of Deloitte until he retired as Partner in 2015 and then retired as Senior Business Advisor in 2019 when he joined TTSG.

ROB LAMKA

CPA, CA

Principal

As a Principal with TTSG, Rob focuses on bringing innovative wealth optimization solutions to successful entrepreneurs and families in Ontario. Prior to joining TTSG The Veritas Edge, he was a senior tax partner in a big four accounting firm for over 10 years. His practice focused on tax advisory and transaction planning, including a significant focus on tax planning for mergers and acquisitions. Over the last 25 years Rob has provided advice to public and private clients across Ontario and has held senior financial roles in both public and private companies. He is also a proven educator and has taught taxation and business topics for the Ontario Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants, The Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants, The University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.

JASON MONTEMURRO

LL.B., CA, CPA, CFA

Principal

As a Principal with TTSG, Jason focuses on financing and insurance products related to the group. Previously, Jason was a Partner at Azimuth Capital Management, which is an energy focused Private equity firm that managed more than $3 billion.  Preceding Azimuth, Jason served as Director of Global Investment Banking for CIBC World Markets.  Jason was also previously a tax attorney with Felesky Flynn LLP. His practice included mergers and acquisitions, financing, tax structuring including trust conversions, as well as working for clients with the Canada Revenue Agency and Department of Justice on an array of tax issues. Jason also worked at Deloitte as a Manager in the Assurance and Advisory Department.

JOHN HUTSON

Principal

John Hutson brings an established career and track record to TTSG. He is an accomplished writer who co-authored the Canadian best-seller, “How to Reduce the Tax You Pay”, an editor, a tutor and lecturer and a long-time employee and Partner of Deloitte. Between 2001 and today, John has been the Deloitte SWO Tax Leader (2001-07), the Private Company Tax Leader (2007-14), the Toronto Deloitte TMT Leader (2014-today) and the Deloitte National TMT Tax Leader (2014-today). As a Principal with TTSG, John focuses on bringing innovative wealth optimization solutions to successful entrepreneurs and families in Ontario.

PETER MYERS

Head of Solutions

As Head of Solutions and a TTSG Principal, Peter Myers advises family and employee owned enterprises on structuring and tax opportunities. He came to the firm as a former tax partner with Deloitte and as former owner of a fund management company and several other enterprises. Peter has spent time in Canada, the United States, Australia, the British Isles and Spain throughout his educational and professional careers and worked with clients in those jurisdictions as well as South East Asia and Europe.
